So, there I was already using Amazon as my only source of income. I was selling goods on the Amazon storefront. When the weather started warming and my sales started slipping I started looking for a way to make more money. I was naturally drawn to the prospect of making more money with Amazon since I was already used to their payment structure and fees. I also had a large sense of trust in Amazon. So, I started looking for anything that would increase my income and give me some options. I went through 3 courses on using Amazon's affiliate plan to make extra money. I had a full store that was stocked virtually using all of Amazon to pull from. I didn't have to keep any inventory or do any shipping. All I had to do was get traffic. They traffic buys from Amazon and I get a commission. Easy money. I made all the money I spent on all 3 courses back in no time from just the notices I posted on FaceBook and Twitter. The problem came with my urge to expand. I had no idea how to get alot more traffic without spending a fortune on pay per click advertising. First Steps - A Catch Up

Many years ago I had a small mall based retail store that specialized in collectible card games, primarily Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering. When I found myself unemployed and behind the 8 ball I pulled the old inventory out of storage and created a storefront that listed and sold my goods through Amazon. I had a really great Christmas as a result and the world was a bright and happy place. I knew from past experience that my sales would be numbered once the weather got warm and, unfortunately, I was right. While running the Amazon store I decided to reinvest my time and money into getting the skills I needed to switch gears and branch out. I started getting every decent web course I could get my hands on. I will save you from the long list of packs I have used as there were quite a few that were knocking on $100 and only delivered about $20 worth of content. Financial Freedom From Home

This blog is going to chronicle my personal quest to earn financial freedom while working entirely from home. I live in Virginia back in the mountains on 50 plus acres in a large white house. For over a century the residents of this home have lived a true Homestead life. They were farmers and woodworkers who earned their entire incomes from a sweaty brow and hard work while never really leaving the land to do it. Recently, thanks in no small part to the current bad economy, I found myself joining the ranks of the unemployed. I tried with a valiant effort to find a new position, but alas there were none to be given. I realized my only hope was to work from home. Alas, I have no woodworking skills and I posses a red thumb (that is exactly opposite the green thumb on the color wheel) so farming was out. What I do have is a decent understanding of the internet and computers. I set out to earn my entire household income from the internet in the comfort of my own home. I possess a tenacious, driven work ethic. This allowed me to survive for close to a year just selling goods on Amazon. More on that in another post. Now the sales are slumping since my goods have a winter drive and fall off sharply in the summer. It is time to reinvest my time and money in another direction. I have chosen a mixture of retail web stores and affiliate marketing. This will, with some tweaking, allow me to earn total financial freedom while working from home.
